We welcome all. Whether you prefer a more casual family service or a more traditional Anglican service, we offer a variety of worship styles, a unique blend of traditional and modern elements, on Sundays and weekdays. We are present and relevant for the Greenwich community and beyond, reflected in our sermons.
How We Worship at Christ Church Greenwich
The Episcopal liturgy is rooted in ancient Christian tradition, but we are also open to new interpretations and expressions of faith. The principal weekly worship service is the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion. All worship in the Episcopal Church is based in the Book of Common Prayer, which gives worship a familiar feel, no matter where you go, a rhythm that becomes comforting and familiar to the worshipers. Sermons are an inspiring and vital part of our worship services, reflecting the liturgy of the day while being relevant in our lives today.
Our services are often interactive, with congregants encouraged to participate in the readings, prayers, and hymns. The services also provide a sense of community and belonging, as members of the congregation come together celebrate the ebb and flow of the year.
Our internationally renowned choirs and sacred music are uplifting and inspiring, a beloved and important component of many of our worship services. The Harrison & Harrison organ was specifically designed to compliment the congregation as they sing.
Children are invited to attend Children’s Chapel, our version of “Sunday School.” They follow Deacon Susie before the sermon, returning to their parents after the Peace.
All baptized Christians—regardless of age or denomination—are welcome to receive communion at our table. All Christians are welcome to come forward during Communion for a blessing.
All are welcome, no exceptions.
